Petit Parisian

Which little fashonista wouldn't love to be in Paris? ....everyday!
This room was designed for Sanya, a 10 year old sweet little girl who loves the colour purple, lives in India and is a true fashonista. The final concept is what you can see in the above picture.
Sanya's parents wanted a concept room, where she could grown into her teens, which would have her favourite colours and can utilize some of the existing furniture. Good challenge to have! And to make it reflect a fashonista's taste...what do you do?
My mind drifted to the fashion capital - Paris! Ooh la la.. And that's how the theme and colour scheme was decided. No Poodles or polka dots for Sanya, but something more mature. A concept which she will enjoy as she grows into her teens.
To give a feel of Paris, I designed a sunroof from where she could see the eternal symbol of Paris - the crown of the Eiffel tower. Her study table took the shape of an upright piano and the TV was mounted on a french style paneled wall. Check out how the before and after wall looks like.
Her keyboard had to be incorporated in the design, so the table also holds her music keyboard, which can  be pulled out whenever she likes a musical break.

The existing french paneled wardrobe was coloured with her favourite  purple to match the bed. Some crystal knobs added to its elegance and the Parisian touch.
A floral (of course, Purple) wall paper and striped window drapes added colour and pattern to the room.
An  existing nook was transformed  by adding a drawer and mirror shuttered cabinets, a purple pouffe below and voila!! We have a small  but a much needed dressing table.
A bin was added near the entrace to drop her raquects, balls etc as she enters her own Paris.

The doors were covered with soft board to pin-up here art work, snaps and whatever else she would like to show.

A swing next to the window, a fun extra seat when friends are over, a nice place to read or chill and watch TV from, completed the room

I am sure Sanya and her compagnons will enjoy and appreciate this room as they grow. The only thing that will perhaps need replacement in her latter teen years is the bed. A nice french style bed with mirror finished side tables will complete the look!
For now Sanya and I are quite over the top.  It was a pleasure to see her room complete and the smile on Sanya's face said it all! Hope you like the room and had fun reading about it as much as I enjoyed creating the room.
