Sharing spaces with privacy - A perfect sibling room

Some parents are faced with a dilemma - children sharing a room, at the same time want a  little privacy and individuality for each kid. Specially when there is a big age difference.
Doimo Cityline follows the child's  growth, with rooms designed to change with each passing stage.  In this we can see how a room is divided into two  independent spaces ...a nursery and a tween/teen's space
As your child grows from an infant to a toddler, the cot can be changed into a regular bed and so can the wall decor.
The room is divided with a bookshelf and a sliding door for privacy.
Both the rooms can be personalized based on the Child's personality and interest.

Lovely little Christmas trees - DIY

I am  getting all excited to decorate the place with holiday decor. We put up the Christmas tree and the star, today  and it looks lovely. As soon as my daughter finishes with her test on wednesday we'll be doing some DIY decor together. Both of us are excited and cannot wait. Surfing for some inspiration to decorate her room with some mini Christmas trees, I came accross these cute little trees. Seem to be simple and doable. Thought will share with you. Just in case you share the same enthusiasm.

Green paper over cone... cute one from the lovely cupboard
White christmas ... awesome feather tree, from Martha the great
Paper cones on candle sticks. This is from Madiganmade

Space Saving, yet Stylish

Modern kids' rooms face a big challenge  with space required to house all their toys, sports gear, musical instruments, board games , bags, besides their basic wardrobe. Creating a space for all these which are convenient to use and maximize space is  what we will glance through, in this post
This room is from Dielle Itally
While we provide for enough storage the bed and a study also has to find an apt place. In the above room (elegant colors) there is also a provision for an extra bed for a sleep over. Notice the storage under it too.

This room is from Doimocityline Italy
Ample storage in this room. Check out the clever use of  the corner wardrobe  in the layout. The  wardrobe continues over the bed and there are shelves over the study... ..that's what we call "going vertical".

Same idea going vertical all the way to the ceiling with open shelves and closed cabinets to give a neater look. A corner study is also incorporated.

While incorporating a lot of storage you need to be a bit careful, with the color you use for the storage you use above eye level. As you do not want it coming all towards you. If you have  windows and some structural element which makes the layouts not very useful, its better to consult with or get a good layout from a good interior designer. An interior designer can include a concept or give it some more character or personalise it for you.

What if you have two kids sharing a room....stay tuned for "Sharing in style" to check out how to use every inch of your room to accommodate for more then one child's need.
